wt Weight Training for Back PainAccording to a new research, chronic back pain sufferers are better off using weight training. The research has been done by the University of Alberta and University of Regina. The recent findings showed that people with chronic backache who got in a 16-week exercise program of resistance training just using barbells, dumbbells, and some other load-bearing exercise equipment and tools showed around 60% improvement in pain. Alternatively, people who preferred some aerobic training for example jogging, walking on a treadmill or using any elliptical machine to get relax their back pain showed simply 12% improvement.

In a statement, Robert Kell, an assistant professor of exercise physiology at the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus told, “Any activity that makes you feel better is something you should pursue, but the research indicates that we get better pain management results from resistance training.” He also said, “We tried to strengthen the entire body and by doing that, we decreased the fatigue people felt throughout the day. They were better able to perform their activities of daily living.” Aerobics training generally works just the lower body.” The research also discovered that both types of training did provide some other fitness benefits, for example lower body fat and so on.
